Decline in Balloon Quality: A Call for Better Accountability
Lately, many of us in the balloon industry have noticed a significant decline in the quality of decorator-grade balloons. It's not just me - other decorators are feeling the same frustration! We're dealing with defective balloons, including holes, discoloration, missing balloons, thinner material, and streaks. Is anyone else experiencing this? Manufacturers, we need answers! What’s going on with quality control?
As decorators, we rely heavily on the quality of the products we purchase, as they directly impact the success of our work and client satisfaction. When balloons don't meet our expectations or have defects straight out of the box, it’s not only disappointing but also frustrating. And when we advertise for these brands by using their products in our work, we expect a certain standard.
We understand that balloon manufacturers dominate the market and have a huge influence. But as customers who help promote their products—whether it's through social media, word of mouth, or simply by showcasing our balloon creations—we need to hold them accountable. It's only fair that we receive quality products for the prices we are paying.
Lately, we've seen price increases that feel excessive, and many of us are left wondering why there isn’t more transparency or accountability regarding these issues. It's time for manufacturers to remember that we, as decorators, are helping to build their brand reputation. In return, we deserve to be treated fairly, with reasonable prices and products that meet the high standards that we expect.
One area that has seen some improvement, however, is in the color offerings. I’ve noticed that manufacturers seem to be listening more to decorators when it comes to the availability of certain colors. But there's still a long way to go in terms of ensuring that quality matches the expectations we have for our businesses.
So, manufacturers, we’re asking for better consistency. We want balloons that meet quality standards, fair prices, and better accountability. After all, when we buy from you, we’re not just spending money—we’re also advertising for you with every event we create.
Let’s work together to bring the quality of our products back to where they belong!
